An Intimate Garden Wedding at the Four Seasons Austin

Every so often, when heartfelt romance meets beautiful design, real life feels just like a fairytale. K & D’s wedding at the Four Seasons Austin was one such example. An immersive experience from start to finish, their wedding day brought together whimsical colors, abundant florals by Remi & Gold, and bespoke details. Shared with 60 loved ones, it was an intimate gathering bathed in the golden light reflecting off Lady Bird Lake, and one I felt incredibly honored to capture.

An Intimate Garden Wedding at the Four Seasons Austin

The Four Seasons lawn was transformed under a clear tent draped with rustling greenery and hung with crystal chandeliers. The ground arrangements ran the full length of the aisle on both sides, filled with dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, sweet peas, anemones, delphinium, tulips, and cosmos in coral, peach, periwinkle, yellow, blush, and lavender. Every color loose and spilling rather than contained. White wishbone chairs with sage green ribbon bows lined either side. At the end of the aisle, a full arch in the same palette framed the vows and the trees behind them. The setting felt secluded and intimate, despite the venue’s location just steps from downtown Austin.

Cocktail hour likewise took place outside, on the patio shaded by heritage oaks. Guests nibbled on caviar and cotton candy from a vintage-style cart, then snapped selfies for the couple’s Polaroid guest book. When it was time to take their seats inside, a custom vinyl seating chart wall, adorned with a flutter of pastel butterflies, showed the way. This was a playful nod to the butterfly RSVP cards guests had seen months prior.

The Garden Came Inside and Stayed All Night

If the ceremony and cocktail hour highlighted the Four Seasons’ idyllic grounds, the reception brought the outdoors in, creating a secret garden paradise brimming with rich color and candlelight. Greenery poles, each hung with a crystal chandelier, arced elegantly over the guest tables. The tablescapes literally overflowed with blooms, mimicking one continuous arrangement, while velvet linens and draping created a sumptuous backdrop.

The lounge area shifted the mood entirely. Purple velvet draping, oversized organza flowers in blush and white hanging at full height, low curved sofas, and a coffee table with its own garden arrangement. An image of Kathryn with her arms up, surrounded by her people in that purple light, is one of my favorites from the entire day.

Then there was the wrapped dance floor, a bespoke detail featuring the couple’s initials surrounded by a playful pattern of pink florals and wavy green lines. Every time I have the good fortune of working with Bird Dog Wedding, I’m in awe of their ability to craft a space where every detail feels considered. When Every Detail Has a Purpose
