Hill Country Pavilion at Omni Barton Creek Wedding

I’ve photographed weddings at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa many times, and one thing always surprises me. No two celebrations ever feel alike. The venue has a way of becoming whatever a couple imagines. Sometimes it’s modern. Sometimes it’s formal. This time, it became a garden-inspired celebration filled with soft greens, layered florals, and welcoming spaces designed to bring people together. From the ceremony overlooking the hills to a reception that felt more like an elegant home than a ballroom, every part of the day reflected Mollie and Peyton’s vision.

A Garden-Inspired Welcome at Il Brutto

The celebration began the night before at Il Brutto, one of my favorite rehearsal dinner spots in East Austin. Pearl Events Austin and The Bloom Bar ATX transformed the restaurant with details that hinted at what was to come. A custom green bar greeted guests on the patio, while a hand-painted escort display featuring swans introduced one of the evening’s signature motifs. Swan planters overflowing with flowers appeared throughout the space, tying together the garden-inspired palette in a way that felt playful rather than overly formal. As the sun set, guests moved inside the wine room, where candlelight, mint-green linens, and family-style Italian dishes encouraged everyone to linger around the tables.

Mollie’s rehearsal dinner look was just as memorable. Rather than choosing an off-the-rack outfit, she worked with Kit Made to create a custom bridal ensemble featuring a strapless peplum top and matching column midi skirt. The piece was hand embroidered with vibrant green and pink florals, echoing the flowers that surrounded the evening and setting the tone for a wedding weekend filled with thoughtful, personal details.

A Wedding Ceremony Framed by the Texas Hill Country

One of my favorite things about the Hill Country Pavilion at Omni Barton Creek is how the landscape becomes part of the ceremony without needing much decoration. Rows of white chairs curved gently around a single oak tree overlooking the hills, while classic urns overflowing with spring flowers framed the altar. Bouquets of Austin embraced the setting instead of competing with it. Blush roses, white garden roses, hydrangeas, orchids, snapdragons, and soft blue accents created arrangements that were fresh and organic against the Texas landscape.

When Mollie finally walked down the aisle, every bit of anticipation paid off. Their ceremony ended with an unforgettable dip kiss as white petals filled the air and guests cheered around them. It was one of those moments that perfectly captured their personalities: joyful, effortless, and completely genuine.

As the sun began to lower, we slipped away for portraits overlooking the hills. The evening light softened into a gentle haze that seemed to wrap around them. At one point, Mollie rested her head on Peyton’s shoulder while they looked out across the view. It wasn’t posed or planned. It was simply one of those quiet moments that naturally happens after saying “we did it.”

A Reception at The Hill Country Pavilion Designed to Feel Like Home

Walking into the reception, it was clear this wasn’t meant to feel like a traditional ballroom.

Pearl Events Austin designed and orchestrated a reception room that felt more like a beautifully appointed living space than a traditional ballroom layout. Custom upholstered benches with throw pillows anchored the room alongside high boys, rounds, and squares. Each seating area was distinct and was designed to naturally pull people into conversation.

One detail I kept coming back to all evening was the floral installation lining the dance floor. Instead of tall arrangements scattered throughout the room, Bouquets of Austin created a continuous garden beneath the windows. Combined with botanical linens, ribbed glassware catching the candlelight, and softly glowing table lamps, the entire room felt less like a wedding venue and more like an elegant home prepared for a celebration.

Dinner turned into dancing, with the Dry Water Band filling the dance floor. To end the evening, a lively second line honored Peyton’s Louisiana roots, weaving through the reception as guests joined in behind the band. It was one of those traditions that immediately invited everyone into the celebration, whether they’d experienced a second line before or not.

Yes, the flowers were stunning. The views were incredible. The design was thoughtful from beginning to end. But what I’ll remember is how easily people laughed together, how often hugs interrupted the timeline, and how every part of the day felt welcoming.
