Canyonwood Ridge, located in the charming town of Dripping Springs, Texas, provided the perfect backdrop for Audrey and Hayden’s wedding. The two met over a decade ago, in Middle School, but it took a few years before they started talking. Audrey’s friend had put her number on Hayden’s phone, and years later, he accidentally texted her. And as they say, the rest is history!
The couple wanted an outdoor wedding, and as they searched for a venue, they fell in love with Canyonwood Ridge. Its close proximity to downtown Austin provided them with sweeping Hill Country Views while still being convenient for guests. The venue also hosts multiple spaces, including an outdoor ceremony location, an on-site Chapel, and a large Reception Hall. Plus, you get exclusive use of the grounds for your day, so it is private! I also love that The Chapel is filled with plenty of light. So in case of rain, we can easily move the ceremony indoors.
Their wedding day started in the getting ready suites, which are right on-site. Audrey chose a neutral color palette, focused on soft gray and cream. The bridesmaids wore gray chiffon dresses, while the groomsmen coordinated in gray suits. The bridesmaids had olive branch bouquets to keep with the natural aesthetic, while Audrey carried an all-white and greenery bouquet.
Wedding Ceremony Overlooking The Hill Country
The couple chose not to do a first look, so we focused their individual portraits with the bridal parties so that we could focus the post-ceremony pictures on just the two of them! As a wedding photographer, I am able to adjust the picture schedule around your final timeline. So if you decide to do a first look or no first look, we will ensure we have time for it all!
Their ceremony took place at the Trellis, which overlooks the countryside. The warm spring breeze blew through the air as the couple exchanged vows, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was perfect! After their ceremony, guests headed to the cocktail hour, while I took Audrey and Hayden around the grounds for golden hour pictures. The lighting was beautiful, and there were so many places for pictures.
Reception at Canyonwood Ridge
Inside the reception hall, the decor was kept minimal, with a focus on greenery and candlelight. Audrey wanted the venue’s rustic touches and mix of wood, steel, and stone to take center stage. Long farm tables allowed for guests to mingle and enjoy the evening.
The newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife in front of the venue’s stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, which provided a picturesque view of the sunset. As the night continued, guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks and danced the night away under the modern Edison bulb chandeliers.
Canyonwood Ridge’s natural beauty, combined with the couple’s simple and elegant color palette, made for a stunning celebration of love and commitment.
