Jack + Olivia’s Vibrant Wedding at Austin Proper Hotel

Some weddings are just next-level. The kind that makes your jaw drop the moment you walk in, and then leaves you with a full heart by the end of the night. Jack and Olivia’s wedding at the Austin Proper Hotel was exactly that. A design-forward, emotionally rich, guest-centered celebration that felt every bit as fun and magnetic as they are.

From the very beginning, this wedding was rooted in connection and joy. Olivia and Jack’s story started where many Texas love stories do, on the dance floor at Maverick’s Dancehall. Thursday nights were for line dancing and two-stepping, and on one of those neon-lit nights, Olivia met Jack through friends. A handshake, a quick smile, and the rest, as they say, is history.

A Ceremony of Meaning and A Reception in Full Color

They began their day with a heartfelt ceremony at Central Christian Church, a meaningful place for the two of them. And then, the party moved to one of my favorite new Austin venues: the stunning Austin Proper Hotel.

Jack and Olivia hosted their reception in the Mirabeau Ballroom, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of downtown Austin. Guests entered through a dramatic stairway lined in patchworked vintage rugs, a welcoming statement that set the tone.

Inside, the space was transformed into a lush oasis, blending opulent textures, modern touches, and a whole lot of personality. Designed and planned by Surprise Productions with flowers by the incredible team at Flair Floral, this wedding leaned into bold color, rich detail, and elevated guest experience from start to finish.

The color palette was filled with deep greens, golden yellows, champagne, rust, cream, fiery oranges, soft pinks, and rich burgundies. Think modern opulence with a playful spirit. The bridesmaids wore gowns in varying shades of green, each holding colorful bouquets brimming with peonies, parrot tulips, anemones, sweet peas, ranunculus, and cosmos.

Olivia wore the Beau gown by Jenny Yoo, crafted from a beveled floral jacquard that added subtle texture and a sculptural silhouette. Jack looked equally sharp, and their guests? Showstoppers. The fashion throughout the night was truly a highlight, with friends and family showing up in bold, expressive outfits that added even more energy to the room. A live band kept the dance floor full all night, and every corner of the venue held something special.

Two Custom Lounges For Olivia + Jack

Olivia and Jack wanted their guests to feel not just entertained, but immersed. And the two lounges they created did exactly that. Olivia’s Lounge featured golden velvet seating, fuchsia pillows, and gold accents. Blush and gold linens added a soft shimmer, while a photo booth and live illustrator gave guests something fun and interactive to enjoy between dances and cocktails. Jack’s Lounge had a warm, moody vibe with deep leather couches, brown suede chairs, layered rugs, and patterned stools. The lounge extended onto the outdoor terrace, styled with velvet merlot linens and leather chairs, perfect for the live cigar roller and late-night stargazing.

Design-Forward Wedding at Austin Proper Hotel

Weddings like Olivia and Jack’s are a dream to photograph. Not just because of the color or the floral installations (though… wow!).
