There’s something undeniably special about intimate weddings. When you strip away the grand guest lists and towering ballrooms, what remains is the heart of what a wedding is truly about – connection. Mackenzie and Christopher’s intimate wedding at Commodore Perry Estate was a celebration of family and meaningful traditions, set against one of Austin’s most refined backdrops.

With only 12 of their closest family and friends, every detail of their day was chosen with intention. Their wedding wasn’t just about the two of them. It was about honoring the family that brought them to this moment. Every glance, every embrace, and every shared memory felt even more significant in such an intimate setting. Traditional Greek Orthodox Ceremony & An Elegant Candlelit Dinner at Commodore Perry Estate

Mackenzie knew from the start that getting ready in the pink LaVerne Suite at Commodore Perry Estate would be a highlight of her wedding day. It’s a space that feels as bold and elegant as it is whimsical, and watching her excitement as she stepped into that setting made every moment even more special. She wore the Asta gown by Mark Ingram, a stunning mermaid-style dress with a square neckline and detachable overskirt. The Mikado fabric and Duchesse Satin ruched-cummerbund waist created an effortlessly sophisticated silhouette, highlighting her timeless and style. The overskirt transformed her look from ceremony to reception with graceful ease.

The couple exchanged vows in a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony. From the crowning and crown exchange to the symbolic dance around the marriage table, each ritual honored their faith and the generations that came before them. Mackenzie’s sister, Marissa, stood as the Koumbara, playing a significant role in during key moments of the ceremony.

Following their ceremony, guests returned to The Mansion Dining Room at Commodore Perry Estate. This room features oak-paneled walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and warm candlelight that sets the stage for an intimate dinner. Dark green and white florals complemented the estate’s European-inspired architecture. Each place setting was carefully arranged, the atmosphere refined yet inviting. It was as if they were hosting a beautiful dinner at home. Only this home happened to be one of Austin’s most stunning properties.

What I loved most about Mackenzie and Christopher’s wedding was how personal it felt. They infused their day with thoughtful nods to their story—from the Willie Nelson-themed groom’s cake (a tribute to where they first met) to their first dance song, “Always on My Mind,” played on Christopher’s dad’s original 1980s vinyl record. The sentimental details didn’t just add charm; they made their wedding feel undeniably theirs.
