Some venues have the ability to transport you the moment you step through the gates, and Commodore Perry Estate in Austin, Texas, is one of them. Even though it’s right in the middle of downtown Austin, you instantly feel transported, like you’ve slipped away to a European villa surrounded by manicured gardens and timeless architecture. As an Austin wedding photographer, I’ve documented many venues across the city, but Commodore Perry is truly one of a kind. For Sarah & Eric, it offered the perfect backdrop for their tented fall wedding, combining quiet luxury, family-centered moments, and timeless design.
Family-Centered Ceremony in the Chapel
Sarah began her day in the Night Jasmine Suite, getting ready with her mother and sister. She chose a strapless satin gown by Pronovias with a sheer organza overlay and a cathedral-length veil edged with lace appliqués. It was an effortlessly classic look that perfectly matched the sophisticated setting.
Their ceremony took place inside Commodore Perry Estate’s restored chapel, an iconic space. In one of the most meaningful details, Sarah’s father officiated, with her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews all playing important roles in the ceremony. It was a true family affair!
After the ceremony, guests moved onto the Chapel Terrace, an expansive 11,000-square-foot lawn with the mansion as its backdrop. With manicured gardens and sunset views, the terrace was the perfect place for guests to mingle before the evening celebration began.
A Sperry Tented Wedding at Commodore Perry Estate in Austin
For the reception, a Sperry tent was set on the estate grounds. Café lights strung across the ceiling cast a warm glow. While fruitwood chairs, white linens, and long farm tables created a mix of timeless elegance and relaxed charm. The floral design, by Lemon Leaf Floral, leaned into quiet luxury. With a palette of all white and greenery accented by soft touches of fall leaves, it was stunning. Butterfly ranunculus, garden roses, and cascading ivy created a look that was as refined as it was romantic
Later in the evening, the celebration continued back inside the chapel, where the dance floor came alive with music. Entertainment was a top priority for Sarah & Eric, and it showed! The Jordan Kahn Band kept the party going all night long.
Quiet Luxury, Full of Heart
Sarah & Eric’s fall tented wedding at Commodore Perry Estate was the perfect balance of refined design and heartfelt family moments. From the European-inspired setting to the personal touches woven throughout the day, every detail reflected their love for each other and for the people closest to them. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the planning by Uptown Events and the incredible vendor team!
