A Colorful Chic Wedding in Austin

As a wedding photographer, I love full wedding weekends! They offer endless opportunities to celebrate with everyone you love, and Laney & Thomas’ wedding weekend in Austin did not disappoint. This vibrant celebration overflowed with color, emotion, and playful details, making it one of the most memorable weekends I’ve had the honor to capture. I can’t forget to mention the stellar incredible team, truly some of the best in Austin. Their collective passion and expertise, from the brilliant planning by Camille with Whitt Ross and the breathtaking floral artistry by Botanical No 9. and the packed dancefloor thanks to Manhattan Band, elevated every detail of the weekend into pure magic.

Cowboy Chic Rehearsal Dinner

The festivities kicked off with a rehearsal dinner that embraced a true Cowboy Chic vibe at County Line, one of Austin’s favorite BBQ spots. The night started off fun when adorable donkey beer burros donned flower-adorned saddles to greet everyone. Guests indulged in a mac and cheese bar, a potato bar, and s’mores by a fire pit, all while a live band kept the energy high. These mini burros spread joy as they paraded around, setting the tone for a weekend filled with unexpected delights.

A Wedding Day Bursting with Color and Emotion at Omni Barton Creek

Laney & Thomas designed a wedding day that radiated love and excitement from every corner. The bridal party made a grand entrance to Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” setting a playful yet elegant mood, while the bride herself walked out to the timeless Canon in D. The day was a kaleidoscope of jewel tones. Deep pinks, oranges, rusts, golds, and burgundies played together, perfect for this fall wedding. Dripping Bougainvillea, garden roses, ranunculus, daisies, parrot tulips, and flame lilies were the focus of the flowers throughout. Bridesmaids stunned in dresses ranging from floral patterns to sequins and satin in varying shades of pink and fuschia.

Every detail spoke to the couple’s creative spirit. Laney designed her own wedding stationery. Her handpainted bow and delicate flower pattern served as both the envelope liner and belly band, adding a personalized and artistic touch. A heartfelt surprise warmed the day further when Laney’s father’s best friend, John Wilson, performed a touching first dance song that brought tears.

The reception at Omni Barton Creek elevated the celebration with dramatic florals and sophisticated decor. Tall, statement centerpieces lined the head table, their lush arrangements perfectly complemented by sage green velvet linens. In front of the stage, 16 feet of cascading blooms created a stunning floral wall that served as the backdrop for the evening’s festivities.

The reception space came alive with energy as guests mingled, dined, and danced the night away. I loved watching the way everyone embraced the moment—from heartfelt toasts to spontaneous dance-offs on the packed dance floor. And when the band played, every beat felt like an invitation to celebrate life, love, and connection.
