Holly and Kyle said “I do” in the heart of the Texas Hill Country! Their wedding in Fredericksburg epitomized classic romance, from the white and blue color scheme to the abundant florals. Fredericksburg is one of Central Texas’ most charming small towns and a sought-after wedding destination. I loved photographing a wedding there and am thrilled to share these highlights.

Fredericksburg also holds special meaning to Holly and Kyle as the place where their love story began. They met at Holly’s family farm after her dad invited Kyle to stay for the weekend—under the guise of discussing business opportunities! The two hit it off immediately, so it wasn’t long before they began dating. Eight months later, Kyle popped the question during a family vacation to Telluride, Colorado, while dining at Holly’s favorite restaurant. The two now reside together in Austin with their dog, Annie.

Timeless Wedding Details

Holly and Kyle eschewed trends to plan a timeless garden wedding. Accordingly, they chose a white and dusty blue color scheme reflected in the floral details and the wedding party’s attire. Holly’s attendants wore mismatched dusty blue gowns and carried simple bouquets filled with ivory tulips. Holly, wearing an off-the-shoulder Romona Keveza bridal gown, also carried ivory blooms, including roses, hydrangeas, and sweet peas interspersed with Queen Anne’s Lace sprays. Meanwhile, Kyle and his attendants sported black tuxedos pinned with boutonnières, each containing sage green thistle and a single white rose.

Garden Wedding in Fredericksburg

The couple exchanged their vows in an outdoor ceremony at the Hill Country Herb Garden in the heart of Fredericksburg. This venue is a gem! Known for its luxurious lodging and in-house apothecary, restaurant, and spa, it offers a memorable setting for Hill Country getaways and celebrations. In true Texas fashion, each of the 14 guest cottages has a front porch, where you can sit and dine on the complimentary breakfast.

A massive live oak tree presided over Holly and Kyle’s ceremony in the venue’s garden. The proceedings unfolded against a beautiful stone backdrop flanked by lanterns and floral pillars. The florals were the star of the show at this ceremony! Lush greenery set off the pops of white from roses, delphinium, and Matilija poppies. White and green floral arrangements also lined the sides of the ivory-carpeted wedding aisle.

A Lively Reception with Texas Flair

The couple and their guests headed to Sage, a nearby restaurant, for the reception following the ceremony. Wanting to take advantage of Texas’ gorgeous spring weather, Holly and Kyle planned an al fresco dining experience in the restaurant’s backyard space. Long, family-style tables allowed the guests to mingle. Then, once dinner concluded, everyone headed indoors to dance the night away! Thanks to an energetic live band and an assortment of fun props—including silver rhinestone cowboy hats—guests packed the dance floor all evening.

This wedding in Fredericksburg was stunning from start to finish! I feel honored that Holly and Kyle trusted me to document this exciting chapter of their love story.
