Lindy and Chris’ wedding at Mattie’s Green Pastures was full of color and gorgeous garden-inspired details! The two first met in 2011 on a double date, when both were students at the University of Texas. Six years later, they met again by chance at a St. Patrick’s Day celebration in San Francisco. That second serendipitous meeting turned into more dates, then falling in love—and before long Chris proposed!
Colorful Wedding at Mattie’s Green Pastures
The couple instantly knew that they wanted to wed in Austin, where their family lives. In conjunction with their planner, Kali of Kindle & Gather, they also decided that they wanted their day to feel vibrant, bold, moody, and garden-like, with plenty of textural details. Rather than planning around a “color scheme,” they instead concentrated on those aesthetic keywords. Soon the day came together seamlessly without the need to box in their imaginations!
Additionally, the couple’s decision to use bold, bright hues was the right one to bring out the freshness of their garden venue. Their florist, Earl Grey Floral, selected blooms in a rainbow of red, orange, marigold, blush, and soft lavender. The resulting palette was one-of-a-kind, and each variety contributed so much texture!
Handmade Paper Details
What’s more, Lindy, who is a talented artist, designed her and Chris’ paper details and invitation suite herself. She crafted a design that was clean and modern but with a pop of bold color that paired with her flowers. Her handmade details included an envelope for each guest attached to an oversized seating chart. In all, they were such a sweet contribution to the day! Another unique choice the couple made was to have long tables at their reception. In the place of round ones, they offered an al-fresco dining experience. Underneath a clear-top tent strung with greenery and cafe lights, the scene was absolutely gorgeous.
For her walk down the aisle, Lindy stunned in the Greta gown by Carolina Herrera. Crafted of silk mikado, it featured a trumpet shape, square neckline, and off-the-shoulder cuffs. A trail of buttons down the back led into a train, which was set off by a cathedral veil studded with pearls. The look was definitively classic, but with a modern twist!
It was an honor to capture Lindy and Chris’ wedding at Mattie’s Green Pastures. I serve Austin couples getting married locally and internationally, and I would love to get to know you and document your unique love story.
