Christen and Riley’s wedding at Commodore Perry Estate was intimate, luxurious, and such a sweet union of their two families. Their parents have been friends for years, and before Christen and Riley even met they suspected that the two would make a great couple. So, they came up with a way for them to meet! While both families were vacationing at their homes in Whitefish, Montana, Riley’s family invited Christen’s family over for dinner. Riley opened the door, Christen saw him, and the rest is history!
While both were living in Texas at the time, Christen was in Dallas and Riley was in Austin. However, it wasn’t long before Christen decided to make the move to Austin and close the three hours of distance between them. As she told me, when you know, you know!
Italian Elegance in the Heart of Austin
After Riley proposed, he and Christen knew that they wanted to exchange their vows in their shared home of Austin. They also knew that they wanted to share their day with just a few of their closest friends and family. Accordingly, they soon landed on Commodore Perry Estate as their ideal venue! The Estate is tucked in Downtown Austin but feels and looks a world away from city life, and even Texas. In fact, walking onto the grounds feels like you have just touched down in the Tuscan countryside! Christen wanted her wedding to feel romantic, classic, and timeless, and the European-inspired elegance of the venue’s mansion and surrounding gardens could not have embodied those words more.
Wedding Day at Commodore Perry Estate
The couple held their ceremony in the Sunken Garden, which is easily the visual highlight of the venue. Perfectly manicured hedges surrounded the happy pair and their guests, while the soft bubbling of the fountain made a soothing background for their vows. After the ceremony concluded, I whisked Christen and Riley away for some sunset portraits. The two absolutely glowed! Christen’s gorgeous gown and cathedral veil caught the light perfectly and made every image stunning.
Later, everyone returned to the Sunken Garden for the reception, where a single long table stood ready for all 12 guests to dine. Large floral arrangements filled with a creamy white mixture of roses, ranunculus, and Italian Ruscus with blush accents acted as a running centerpiece. It looked like the entire table was blooming! As the sun continued to set, dozens of white taper candles glowed, while cafe lights twinkled from above. For a personal touch, each guest received a gift from Tiffany’s! I always love when couples go all-out to let their guests know how treasured they are, especially at such an intimate affair. All in all, it was the perfect evening!
