If you are planning a wedding in North Austin or the Hill Country, this is the wedding venue guide for you! As you saw in my other blog post, Austin has some incredible wedding venues that are both unique and beautiful! This collection features venues around the Texas Hill Country.

Covering 10,000 miles of rolling hills and winding rivers, this is the perfect area for a couple looking for a scenic backdrop. The Hill Country is known for its large venues, which give couples multiple areas for their wedding and breathtaking sunset views. I have shot so many weddings here in Austin, and I often get asked what the best venues are by my clients! Whether you are dreaming of getting married surrounded by Vineyards in Wine Country, or in a historic mansion, this list will help you find your dream wedding venue.

The Greenhouse at Driftwood

This venue is just minutes outside of Austin, but feels like you are worlds away! The Greenhouse at Driftwood is not only beautiful but eco-friendly! They use their rainwater collection for primary water use, and most of the energy needed to run the facility comes from their rooftop solar panels. The two-story greenhouse features tropical and rainforest plants, including palms and orchids. Next door is an additional greenhouse, that features a desert climate, and plenty of cacti and succulents. In total, there are 70 different species planted inside!

When choosing a space for your wedding, you can choose between the greenhouses, the deck, and the lawn. The desert greenhouse is perfect for an intimate elopement, as it can only house 7 people. Mattie and Drake chose the greenhouse for their intimate wedding, and guests overlooked on the balcony as they said I do!

The Arlo

One of the newest venues in the Hill Country is The Arlo. Nestled between downtown Austin and Dripping Springs, this is the perfect spot for a couple looking for a luxury space within 30 minutes of Downtown Austin. The property has multiple indoor and outdoor areas, providing you with endless options. The Ballroom has a neutral palette, with white mashed wood floors and large iron chandeliers. Storie Hall is perfect for indoor ceremonies and receptions and features Northern Pine trusses. The courtyard is a beautiful space for outdoor cocktail hour or even an intimate ceremony!

And no need to worry about booking a hotel or Air BNB to get ready! The Arlo provides two getting-ready spaces, each with large bathrooms and plenty of natural light.

Omni Barton Creek

Are you looking for a space where guests can stay on-site with a complete luxury experience? Check out Omni Barton Creek! This venue and hotel allow guests to stay on-site, indulge in one of the seven restaurants, swim in their large pool, enjoy a round of golf, or even have a spa day at Mokara Spa!

Omni Barton Creek has five in-house venues, each with their own design and view. The Rock House sits by the golf course and streams, while the new Hill Country Pavilion has a large pavilion with endless views of the Hill Country.

Barr Mansion

Barr Mansion is one of the most popular wedding venues here in Austin, and it is no surprise why! This scenic space has over 29,000 acres of land, an iconic glass barn, and a historic mansion. Barr Mansion also offers its own catering team, focusing on food that is as good as it looks. They focus on organic and locally made ingredients and work to customize their menu just for you.

The Victorian mansion was built in 1898 and is often used for the wedding party to get ready in. It has beautiful light and two stories of wrap-around porches for plenty of bridal portrait options. You can also use the mansion as the cocktail hour or ceremony backdrop.

The unique Artisan Ballroom is a reclaimed 18th-century Dutch Barn from New York that has been lovingly resurrected and renewed. It features a mix of old and new, with a modern glass facade and rustic elements inside. Barr Mansion is a photographer’s dream space for receptions!

Their newest space is The Farmstead, a covered pavilion featuring local wood and farm tables. It is a perfect open-air space, that works well for cocktail hour and reception. There are also large barn doors that close in the winter to keep out the cold. Barr Mansion really has it all!

Escondido Golf & Lake Club

Inspired by Old World Tuscany, and filled with Mediterranean-style details, Escondido Golf & Lake Club is a unique wedding venue. The main Clubhouse has stucco walls, curved doorways and windows, and terracotta-colored brick that really makes you feel like you have traveled to Italy. The large lawns give you plenty of space to add a tent if you decide on an outdoor reception.

Woodbine Mansion

One of the most beautiful estates in the Texas Hill Country, Woodbine Mansion is always a favorite of my couples. The original home was built in 1931, and has been redesigned with a Greek-revival style that is perfect as a backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. The venue boasts two spacious courtyards, so you can select the one you love the most. The private gardens and gazebo are well-manicured, and make for beautiful portraits, especially at sunset! The property boasts a beautiful indoor space for smaller weddings, but many couples chose to tent the lawn, where you can hold up to 300 guests. This space is also great for engagement sessions since you can get a variety of backgrounds all in one space!

Camp Lucy

Camp Lucy is one of the premier venues in Dripping Springs! And with three gorgeous spaces to choose from, it will be hard to decide which one you love the most. The luxury hotel rooms let guests stay and enjoy the property all weekend long and enjoy Texas Wine Country. The iconic Sacred Oaks gives a breathtaking backdrop for your ceremony, with heritage oaks and twinkling lights. Plus, it is just steps away from the Grand Hall, which can hold up to 350 guests.

Ian’s Chapel features a resorted 19th-century French colonial chapel for your ceremony and a large Events Hall for your reception. The Vineyard is the newest space and has a permanent 99-foot Savannah Sperry Tent, lit with bistro lights. This space lets you get married right within the resort’s Vineyard! No matter which space you select, you will love this venue.

The Grand Lady

The Grand Lady was built in 1881 as a wedding present for The Walton family and has been updated to include modern amenities. This is the perfect venue for a couple looking for privacy without worrying about multiple weddings happening at the same location. You get access to the full 20-acre site, with the 8-room mansion available for use the entire day. Their on-site bedrooms and bathrooms make beautiful getting-ready areas, allowing you to relax and enjoy the space.

Prospect House

Prospect House is a modern event space that features striking architecture against a country landscape. This gorgeous space was designed by award-winning Texas architect Max Levy, with the landscaping restored by Ten Eyck Landscape Architects. It sits on 20 acres of private land, with both indoor and outdoor spaces available

The Main Hall has 3,000 sf, and is the perfect reception backdrop. The white walls, floor, and ceiling allow plenty of light and can be decorated in any style. It includes built-in banquet seating and can accommodate up to 220 people. Another ceremony option is the Breezeway, which is a covered and screened-in hall that looks out onto the grounds. It can serve as one large space, or be broken up into spaces for a cocktail hour or a ceremony.

One of the most iconic spots on the grounds is the Little Tree space, which features mature live oaks and an old dry-stacked wall. You can also choose to have your ceremony on the lawn, which overlooks the native prairie. It gives a clean backdrop for any ceremony set up, from an intricate archway to a simple altar.
