February is a new month for me. A month to stretch myself as an artist. Do something different. Shoot for myself and be myself.
As many of you know (and have previously seen on my blog), experimental shoots usually have something to do with my cousin Ann. I don't know what I would do without her. She listens to me babble about different ideas and her answer is always the same, "of course." This time was no different. I said I have ALWAYS wanted to do a photoshoot in a parking garage at sunset and Ann's answer was, "of course." So here you have it. A little something different from my normal style and I am kind of digging it. Oh and did I mention my cousin just launched her new etsy shop?? She was kind enough to preview some up and coming headbands in our shoot.

This is for all of you who say I don't show my face enough on this blog. I can't help it, it makes me feel naked to stare at a pic of me on my blog!! This was taken by none other than my cousin.

Our dear friend Ana is leaving us this Saturday. We are all very sad to lose her and can't imagine life without her, but we are excited as she starts this new, exciting adventure in her life! She is moving to Mexico City, back to the city of her childhood, to experience a whole new way of living life. We will miss her constant laugh, eyebrow-raising smile, 24/7 readiness for a martini and funny stories about life. :(
Ana - We are going to miss you so much!! Semana Santa here we come...

Here is a pic from the goodbye festivities last night...

Life passes fast. Sometimes, I have to force myself to sit, breathe and calm my thoughts to remember this exact moment. This weekend made me realize it even more. I went to hang out with my good friend Katie that I have known since high school. Not only did we get to reminisce on high school, college and who recently found us on Facebook...we also got to hang out with her beautiful 18-month-old twins. BABIES. CHILDREN. It causes me to pause - my friends who I knew as kids are having kids. WOW.
Luke and Allison were absolutely adorable. As soon as Allison looked at me those beautiful eyes and a mischievous grin, then vehemently shook her head - I was in love. Luke was a spitting image of his Dad, so handsome and such a little man. We had a great time just hanging out and taking a couple pictures. Oh, happy Sundays...

Love this one of Allison and Katie...

Then, it was time to go down for a nap. I got to witness milk time - heartbreaking!

This coming December, Alex will be graduating with her degree! In celebration, we did a fun photoshoot (in my view, the BEST way to celebrate). We started off in an ADORABLE bookstore filled with old books. We then wandered around in the Heights and took some shots in the beautiful outdoors - it was a perfect day!
Meet Alex - she's fierce, gorgeous and fabulous!

As I alluded to last week, I was able to get together with my good friend Ana and her family. We roamed around the Heights and had fun shooting in overgrown fields, people's front yards and through trees. I also was able to shoot another session with Alex right afterward to celebrate her upcoming graduation, but I am going to drag out the suspension and blog those tomorrow... :) For now, enjoy the family!
