That's right, I've been gifted!! From the Lovelies blog competition and my lovely second place - I won the cutest, most delicious little pouch. It was really hard to choose between the amazing "grab bag" of awards, but I finally decided on an adorable little bicycle pouch created by the talented Kate Durkin. Her shop is wonderful - filled with whimsical prints, pouches, artwork and pillows to fill your house and purse with love. I have my eye on the giraffe pillow next...
Just wanted to grab a couple cute shots of her packaging (like Christmas!) and the adorable pouch. It was intended to be an iphone or ipod case, but I have decided it is the perfect place to hold my abnormally long business cards. I'm not afraid to be different!

I just returned home from the WPPI
Photography Conference and my head is spinning. So many ideas, so much
to do - I don't even know where to begin.
The experience was mind blowing for me - not only did I get a full day of learning from two photographers I greatly admire - Amelia and Justin Lyon - but I also had four full days of workshops (two led by the talented Jory Cordy, Fred Egan and Lara Casey) and trade show mayhem as photographers scrambled to try out all of the new Canon gear and "ooohing" and "ahhhhing" over all the album companies.
One big moment for me was when I heard Elizabeth Messina speak. She didn't talk about the technical stuff behind how to make a good photograph, she talked about being an artist - how to grab your passion and truly be authentic and truly you through all of your photographs. So I have a new goal for myself this year - be me...and figure out exactly what that means.
Here are a couple snippets of my days...they are all a blur of talking, talking, taking pictures and more talking...
*thank you to Margaret for taking this pic of me!

I am off! To Sin City, Nevada for a week of learning and having fun at the annual WPPI Conference. Not only is this my first time to go to Vegas, but this is my first year attending the conference - I am STOKED. Wish me luck!
To give you some cute pictures to look at for a week, I decided to showcase my sister-in-law's cat, Franklin (aka Frankles). He is truly a liger, with a huge flowing mane and paws the size of my fists...he is surprisingly very photogenic.
Have a great week!

A couple weeks ago, the pack got back together and even had some fresh new faces! I absolutely love getting together with other photographers in Houston, not only because I make new friends, but I am allowed to completely and utterly geek out on photography gear. That's right, I said it. I like to talk about the new photography gossip out in the market. You knew every industry had to have it, right?
Here are some shots from our day! The amazing couple Kimberly and Chris were our models as we scavenged for cool walls in Downtown Houston.

There are a lot of us shooting, sometimes my pictures looked more like this...hi Alex!

Chris kept us laughing the ENTIRE time...

Love this one...

Hi Margaret!

Did I mention that Kimberly is drop dead GORGEOUS?!

Is a WINNER! Ok, maybe second place, but still SECOND place! I am humbled, proud and excited because I feel so loved. Thank you, thank you to all of you who took two minutes (or ten minutes b/c it was kind of complicated!) to vote for me. I have loved reading each and every one of your comments and I promise to hold them close and save them for a rainy day.
WHOO HOO - I'm doing my second place winner dance right now...
