welcome. Thanks for stopping by!  My name is Julie Wilhite and I am a portrait/wedding photographer based out of Houston, TX.  That's right, I'm a Texan...and I promise I don't ride a horse to work everyday.  Feel free to take a look around, maybe even drop me a note.  Would love to hear from you!

Last night, Lynnette and Juan married at the Royal Oaks Country Club.  It was a gorgeous and intimate affair for their closest family and friends. After terrible storms throughout the morning, the skies parted just for them and the evening ended with a beautiful sunset - heaven!

More images to come soon, but here is a sneak peek...  congratulations you two!!

Oh the little hands and the little feet...the look when they first open their eyes and they blink and work to focus on your face - it is just heaven. Since I don't have one of my own, I looove visiting my friends that have children. I get to hold, cuddle, pat their backs and hand them over on cue after prolonged crying. Pure bliss.

Last week, I was able to visit my friends Michelle and Charlie after their little girl Ainsley was born. She is absolutely gorgeous. She is dainty and perfect as every little girl should be. And if you haven't seen already, my favorite thing on newborns are capturing all of their perfect little details. I can't get enough!

To bring a little sunshine to your Tuesday...

Megan and Ted are the couple you can't help but love. When they look at each other, it is like the entire world disappears. I have to pinch myself that I am so lucky that I was able to capture such a beautiful couple come together.

Their wedding took place at Briscoe Manor and was like being transported to another world...but definitely a world still in Texas. Megan and Ted are avid Texas fans as evidenced by her Texas ring and love of cowboy boots. I have to say they definitely make Texas look cool (everyone that reads this blog from other places, take note). Their wedding was a joy to photograph and I had the lovely Margaret Lee shooting with me.

Matt and I go wayyyy back. I first met him when I moved to Houston and bartended at a little pizza joint called Candelaris. Fast forward a couple years and I met beautiful April at the Bridal Extravaganza Show in January of this year at the George R Brown. April had no idea that Matt and I knew eachother when she went home and told him she had found a photographer...and the rest is history! The moment I met the two of them together, I told Matt that he was a lucky man. They are adorable together - laughing, even dancing at times (which you will see later), basically just enjoying life. I say the number one thing you need in a marriage is to be able to laugh together.   Matt and April definitely have this trait down pat.

Here are some pics of our time together in downtown Houston!

Last weekend, Chris and I headed to Austin to help out his sister Maggie and Southpaw. They just bought their first adorable house and we helped them lay a new wood floor in their living room. I saw more Home Depots and Lowes than one person should see in a weekend, but all of our sweat and hard work was worth it in the end when we got to lay back and look at the gleaming new beautiful bamboo floor.

Here are some polaroids of our weekend in Austin.

I also snuck away on Sunday to hang out with my cousins and their boys.  I also got to meet the newest addition to our family - little Teddy!  So exciting!  He is adorable, as expected.  :)
