Coldplay has always been one of my favorites. I normally try and stay away from bands that are hyper popular, but Coldplay has just always been a band that stirs my soul. I have never forgotten the first time I heard them. I was in college, walking through our community center and I heard the catchy, mellow tune of Yellow. I remember stopping dead in my tracks and turning to the TV that was hanging from the ceiling. I was riveted. Not only by the tune that I felt embodied how I was feeling at the moment, but by this cute British guy strolling down the beach...
Chris and I had the opportunity to see Coldplay do their Viva la Vida tour at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston on Wednesday night. It was just amazing! Chris Martin is such an amazing musician and the show was brilliantly put together. Including yellow balls floating through the crowds:
an amazing scrim hanging from the back of the stage that they projected the concert onto:
and colorful butterflies that floated in the air:
All in all, an amazing concert and a wonderful night with my husband away from the normalities of life. One of the best things about using a tiny point and shoot camera that fits in my pocket is that I get to hold it up and take a picture of the two of us. Here's to my husband Chris:
