Family is what makes life worth living. Sometimes we get caught up in the rat race called life; checking items off of our to do list, going to work everyday and sometimes we forget to just stop - stop and breathe. Family has a good way of snapping you out of that rut. I see the people that mean the most to me in this world and I get to see how they have grown, prospered and even created little ones. It reminds you of what is truly important in this life.
I got a large dose of family this weekend and had an absolute blast. We were celebrating my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary (can you believe it?!) and it was all fun in the sun. It was amazing to look around and think that all of this was created out of two people's love and enduring commitment. And I mean big, ITALIAN big.
While the grownups drank white wine spritzers (thank you Aunt Josie!), the kids enjoyed a treat of their own - popsicles. It was so much fun to watch, the absolute joy on their faces was priceless. Thought I would share some of their sunshine... Happy Tuesday!

I had SO much fun on Sunday, June 28th. I was greeted by Nelda's smile, "Hiiiiiiii...." She was excited, yet slightly nervous by the event-packed evening. She was about to marry the man of her dreams, but first she had to get dressed, get beautiful and calm her beating heart.
Marvin has a steady smile. I came downstairs from the bridal room and Marvin gave a few directions to a nearby friend and looked up at me with an effortless smile. He was so calm, so debonair and so ready. Ready to have Nelda by his side.
Needless to say the day went perfectly. Nelda was gorgeous, their love was felt throughout the night, and the day was packed with great food and dancing. We had so much fun at the wedding and Marvin even made us dance at the end of the evening. They made it look so effortless, we couldn't refuse!
I had the wonderful opportunity to have Kimberly Brooke second shoot with me. She was a godsend and got some beautiful shots! Thank you Kim!

And the pack is BACK. We had our official second meet up a week or so ago and I was super excited. It was going to be happening at my house! I scrubbed my house, bought flowers, lots of food and got ready to talk shop. We covered topics of albums, lighting, photoshop and then headed over to a nearby railroad track for some sunset fun. My husband works in a shop nearby and I have always noticed that the view of downtown and the sunset are exceptional, so I thought it would be a cool place to practice shooting. Also, the lovely Kimberly Brooke has been looking for some lifestyle images for her new blog so we happily obliged! As you can see, I do not normally post pictures of myself (sorry!), but head on over to Jenna-Dee Detro's blog for more railroad happiness.
Our Margaret unfortunately missed this pack meeting. :( Being super pregnant in the middle of a Houston summer is NOT fun. We are looking forward to our next meet up when EVERYONE can join!

I don't know if anyone else feels the way I do, but every time I turn around there is a baby...or a new friend telling me they are pregnant. What is in the water people?!
I've been having such a wonderful, long weekend so far. Yesterday, I was soooo excited to hang out with my good friend April. She lives in Dallas now, so I am not able to see her as much as I would like. And this time she got to show me that, you guessed it, she is pregnant! She is actually seven months along and we are excitedly planning a full-fledged maternity shoot next month, so stay tuned! Until then, I wanted to share a pic that I quickly snapped. Having a growing life inside you is pretty amazing...
I'm off to Galveston to shoot a fabulous wedding! Have a great July 4th!

This weekend, I had the immense pleasure of being a part of Nelda and Marvin's wedding on Sunday, June 28th. I have been so excited to shoot their wedding since the day they booked me. They are both so laid back, had it all together, and are just so in love. Marvin loves Nelda so much...he wanted to take care of everything and wouldn't let Nelda worry about anything the day of the wedding. He wanted her to just relax and worry about getting ready and looking beautiful. This was NOT a problem for Nelda.
I'm so excited to work on their images, but I wanted to share one of my initial favorites. We found a perfect tree after the ceremony and they were both such troopers. They never ONCE complained about the 100+ temperatures!!
