welcome. Thanks for stopping by!  My name is Julie Wilhite and I am a portrait/wedding photographer based out of Houston, TX.  That's right, I'm a Texan...and I promise I don't ride a horse to work everyday.  Feel free to take a look around, maybe even drop me a note.  Would love to hear from you!

A couple of weeks ago, April and I hooked up for a "just because" portrait session. All I can say is...she's beautiful. And her sister helped style the session with incredibly gorgeous, perfectly put together outfits. It was so much fun to obsess over the props for this session, all the while thinking about how to portray who April truly is.

Check out some of my favorites!!  And contact me anytime if you want to take pictures "just because." It is so much fun and so worth it!

Alex and Allison's wedding was incredibly unique and special. Not only was the couple adorable and so very in love, but the entire wedding took place at Allison's parent's home. Their backyard was completely transformed into another world and every detail was absolute perfection. There were also quite a few dancers that came out to shake their "bom bom." Taylor Lautner may or may not have made a surprise visit...

This feat took the work of many dedicated and talented people. I have to give a special shout out to Valerie of Belle of the Ball. She was so amazing to work with and kept every detail running smoothly with a smile on her face.

Decor:  Darryl & Co.
Lighting:  Impressive Events
Catering:  Swift & Co.
Music/Entertainment:  Divisi Strings/Colllide
Hair/Makeup:  Hues by Heather
Wedding Coordinator:  Belle of the Ball

Also, thank you to Margaret who assisted me with this wedding and rocked it, as usual.

I couldn't possibly blog all of my favorites, there are too many! Check out their slideshow to view even more images of their day. To watch, click here.

I once read an incredibly inspiring blogpost on Sarah Rhoad's blog and I have been saving it for the perfect day to write about. It made me stop, it made me think. Our life is a journey, not a destination. I constantly am striving to be the best me I can be - meaning the best wife, the best daughter, the best sister and the best artist that I can find deep inside me. Hope this inspires you to dig deep too...

Choice

To choose the see the world from a new perspective.
To choose joy.
To choose not to let others dictate your feelings.
To choose to stop fretting with insecurity and doubt.
To choose action and not distraction.
To choose to trust someone.
To choose creation versus stagnation.
To choose not to play it safe this time.
To choose to make your own path and forge your own way.
To choose to execute dreams rather than sitting on them.
To choose to let go of the outcome of things and embrace the journey.
To choose to be YOU unapologetically.
To choose to take responsibility instead of blaming others.
To choose to be fearless.
To choose to make things happen.
To choose to be bold and execute on that project that you fear.
To choose to be open to new people and experiences.

Choice = Power. Everyday it is up to me.

And since a post is always better with a picture, here is little Moses (aka Mo Mo). I spent the weekend in Dallas and he had me crackin' up the entire time.

The big day had finally arrived. With several different events happening at different locations throughout the day, Saturday was a nonstop whirlwind of activity. We seriously never stopped. I worry about how sore Shakeel and Neelam's cheeks were after smiling so much! But no matter, it was all worth it. Their close attention to every detail, made the night beautiful and uniquely them.

Also, their friends and family took such great care of us over the course of the three days, they made us feel like one of their own! I had the amazing help of Kim shooting the big day, couldn't have done it without her.

Without further ado, here is Day 3... I apologize for the enormous blogpost, but it was really hard to select my favorites. To view even more images from Saturday, click here for a slideshow. Enjoy!

On to day TWO!  This day happened at the Shahnai Ballroom. The day started off with the families separated (and may or may not have included crazy string on Shakeel's side), but ended in a big party with everyone together...with lots of dancing and good music. So much fun - enjoy some of my favorites!
