welcome. Thanks for stopping by!  This is my brand-new, totally amazing blog.  I am pumped to be able to share my voice and my photography with the whole wide world.  My name is Julie Wilhite and I am a portrait/wedding photographer based out of Houston, TX.  That's right, I'm a Texan...and I promise I don't ride a horse to work everyday.  Feel free to take a look around, maybe even drop me a note.  Would love to hear from you!

Last Saturday, I had SO much fun hanging out with the beautiful Daniell and the most enchanting little woman ever - Kaily.  Her eyes sparkle as she smiles and she easily grabbed my hand as she led me around Sugarbaby's to look at cupcakes or to the next tree looking for squirrels at the park.  I understand now why Daniell so movingly talks about how Kaily has made her life a better place.

Funny story - I actually grew up on the same street as Daniell, we lovingly talked about how we are from the "ghetto" and that being from the 'lief gives us a harder, cooler edge in life.  LOL.  I try at least.

All I can say, is that I love looking at these images.  Not just because they are seriously THE most gorgeous mom and daughter ever, but because their exuberant spirits shine through in their smiles.

We then ventured off to the park in front of the Menil Collection museum. There was a swing that Kaily just couldn't stay away from...

I LOVE the next three images.  The first one CRACK me up! She is so adorable it hurts.

This is my favorite series of images...are they not just gorgeous together?

This one is my ultimate favorite. Something about the casual happiness...just makes me happy too.

Fantastic! We have a cute little cupcake shop here and I've been DYING to do some photos there for a client. Now I think I will have to get my husband to do some of my daughter and I instead!
I love the honesty and innocence you've captured in these images!

wow. i love these pictures. you definitely have some talent Julie! Haven't seen you or Daniell in so long. Great to see that everyone is doing well. It's funny because I tell people up here in Seattle that I grew up in the hardcore 'ghetto' too, but no one believes me.

Stephen and Amy booked me over a year ago and I was SO excited to see them finally tie the knot two weeks ago. They are the sweetest couple and fit together like puzzle pieces, it just makes perfect sense. Enjoy some images from their day...

There were some of the CUTEST kids at the reception that I have ever seen and they LOVED the camera.  Here are a couple of the shots.

Okay, so because I tortured my husband by posting funny pictures, I thought I would return the favor on myself.  This is me.  These are my pictures in a totally raw, unedited (kind of) way.  Can you tell I am working on a project for our home?  My goal: funny pictures of Chris and I.  Who wouldn't love?  I promise to post pictures of the finished product.  Until then, enjoy a good laugh on Tuesday.  And I already know, I'm a dork.  :)

Anna and Josh have a special story...they have been together since the EIGHTH GRADE!!  Can you believe that?!  Talk about being able to read each other's minds!  And the special thing about the two of them is that they are still so in love after all these years.  When Anna's beautiful smile lights up, you know she has truly found her match.

We had fun roaming around the Villagio together...and we found some KILLER bikes.

See?  This was the smile I was talking about - love!

Then, we hurried over to a park in their neighborhood and a special furry friend joined us as well - LOVE that his tongue is sticking out!  He is so excited to be included!

As many of you know, my husband is incredibly talented at making kick a** furniture.  Unfortunately, our house is about the size of a matchbox and only so many of his gorgeous creations can fit inside of its walls.  That is how one of my favorite pieces, the bamboo coffee table, is up for sale.  It is very simplistic in its design, but gorgeous in its functionality and unique materials.  Bamboo and carbon steel - can you get much better than that?

Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested!  If not, you can still enjoy the view - isn't he talented?
